NHRA FEDERAL-MOGUL DRAG RACING SERIES: Fact Sheet WHAT: O'Reilly Auto Parts Summer Sizzle, a round of the NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series, where drivers earn points leading to divisional and national championships. Categories include: Federal-Mogul Dragster, Federal-Mogul Funny Car, Competition, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The event is the fourth of six in West Central Division competition. WHERE: Nebraska Motorplex, Scribner, Neb. Track is located on Raceway Road, just south of Scribner off Highway 275. WHEN: Friday through Sunday, Aug. 10-12, 2001. SCHEDULE: Time trials and qualifying schedule for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Summer Sizzle: FRIDAY, Aug. 10 -- Gates open at 8 a.m. Qualifying and time trials begin at 9 a.m. Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car qualifying sessions are scheduled at 3 p.m. SATURDAY, Aug. 11 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Final qualifying and time trials are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car qualifying sessions are scheduled at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. SUNDAY, Aug. 12 -- Gates open at 7 a.m. Eliminations begin at 8 a.m. Eliminations for Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car begin at 1 p.m. PURSE: The NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series competitors will compete for cash and contingency awards of $148,495, part of the 43-race, $6.5 million series. 2000 EVENT WINNERS: BONUS PROGRAMS: FEDERAL-MOGUL POINTS FUND -- a $561,000 point fund from Federal-Mogul, which will be shared by 2001 Federal-Mogul divisional champions and Federal-Mogul national champions. Divisional awards include $8,500 each to the Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car champions; $3,000 to the champions in both Competition and Super Stock; $2,000 each to the champions in Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. The seven Federal-Mogul national champions will share a bonus of $135,000. SEALED POWER LOW QUALIFIER BONUS -- a $167,500 overall bonus fund from Federal-Mogul's Sealed Power brand to the low qualifiers at each of the 43 Federal-Mogul events and the 24 NHRA national events: $1,000 each in Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car; $200 each in Competition and Super Stock; and $100 in Stock. FEATURES: More than 400 drivers in the eight racing categories. Eight-car fields in Federal-Mogul Dragster and Federal-Mogul Funny Car, featuring five-second, 250 mph side-by-side racing. TICKETS: GENERAL ADMISSION/PIT PASS -- $10 Friday, $15 Saturday, $20 Sunday. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.
