Bernstein highlighted in new commercial

04/14/2002

Budweiser has unveiled a new television commercial, titled "Blast Off," that is a tribute to five-time NHRA champion Kenny Bernstein. Budweiser's "King of Speed," who has been sponsored by "The King of Beers" for the past 23 years, is competing in his last season in the "Bud King" Top Fuel dragster in 2002.

"The new spot honors our long-standing relationship with one of the true champions in the history of auto racing," said Tony Ponturo, vice president, global media and sports marketing, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. "We wish Kenny the best in his final season as Budweiser's 'King of Speed,' and know our consumers and motorsports fans alike will enjoy watching Kenny 'blast off' to new heights."

The new spot is scheduled to run during each 2002 NHRA event broadcast. This season, Budweiser proudly sponsors "Forever Red…A Run To Remember," a program designed to celebrate Bernstein's distinguished career in motorsports. Budweiser, the world's best-selling beer, is brewed by Anheuser-Busch, the world's largest brewer.
