Comp FAQ addresses A/AP, B/AP classes

The introduction of two new classes in Comp Eliminator for 2002, A/AP and B/AP, has raised several questions concerning the legality of certain equipment and other rules. The following Frequently Asked Questions information should clear up this confusion.

Q: How many forward speeds are allowed?
A:
Maximum three.

Q: Are automated shifters allowed?
A:
No, manual shifters only.

Q: Do these classes receive a weight break?
A:
No. These classes will begin with the standard transmission weight break. Indexes have been adjusted.

Q: Can a manual transmission with a converter be used in this class?
A:
No. These classes are for a converter/planetary transmission (Lenco, B&J, etc.) only
