12/05/2001
The introduction of two new classes in Comp Eliminator for 2002, A/AP and B/AP, has raised several questions concerning the legality of certain equipment and other rules. The following Frequently Asked Questions information should clear up this confusion.
Q: How many forward speeds are allowed?
A: Maximum three.
Q: Are automated shifters allowed?
A: No, manual shifters only.
Q: Do these classes receive a weight break?
A: No. These classes will begin with the standard transmission weight break. Indexes have been adjusted.
Q: Can a manual transmission with a converter be used in this class?
A: No. These classes are for a converter/planetary transmission (Lenco, B&J, etc.) only
